Projects
The hardest part of what we do is staying focused. There are so many opportunities out there that it truly is overwhelming. The following is simply a brief overview the projects we are involved in. Based on current needs, priorities change, so we are usually focused on only or two projects concurrently.
This is what you will see:
- Overview: Brief abstract of the project
- Priority: Based on our resources.
- ImpacT Overview: How this project helps others.
- Current ImpacT: Where we are
- Future ImpacT: Where we are going
- More Info & Links: Self explanatory
If you see a project you are passionate about and want to help with it directly, let us know and together we’ll make a difference! Find your passion and go with it!
Kingdom ImpacT – Stewardship. We want to lead the way for churches to better manage their resources. EXAMPLE: Consider 1,000 churches who each pay $5 a month for website hosting. Over five years, that is $300,000. Now, what if they all got together… for a fraction of that… say 10%, they could host those same 1,000 churches plus and additional few thousand churches and not miss a beat. Direct Impact: 90% savings. Indirect: hosting provided at no-cost to thousands of churches.
Library Projects – many smaller libraries do not have the ability to easily share resources or managed their holdings efficiently. We provide a Online Public Access Catalog to them that facilitates a pooling and sharing of resources.
OpenTech CD – There is a great deal of office productivity software out there that has non-restrictive licensing. Instead of paying $1,000 for an Office Suite and Desktop Publishing application, you can use the programs we recommend to accomplish your work. And it doesn’t stop there… take it home, give a copy to employees and volunteers and ensure that everyone is compatible… using the most recent versions.
OpenTech Network – This is an easy way to identify like-minded organizations out there. When you see the OpenTech Network logo, you can be assured that they are an organization committed to the best stewardship possible. These organizations are fellow promoters of Open Source Software and the pooling together of resources to achieve something far greater than they could on their own.
Website Hosting – We provide basic website hosting at no charge for many clients.
Computer Labs – Many schools and organizations need multiple computers to run software, but can’t afford to buy individual systems. We use an efficient thin-client solution that meets those needs using existing and older equipment.
